About the Event
We are setting up an online book study group to read the book, Me and White Supremacy, by Layla F. Saad. The book is designed to be read in 28 days and for people to be a part of a discussion group about the book. Me and White Supremacy is a highly acclaimed and often referenced guide to recognizing the biases that we all have inside of us, and how we can work to do better. The Synod’s Building Bridges Anti-Racism team will coordinate the discussion groups online, led by Jenny and Horace Pratt. The discussion group(s) will meet online on Sundays, beginning on January 3 at 1pm with an opening instructional session, with the book reading to begin on January 4.
All you have to do is sign up to participate at by Sunday, December 20. And you’ll need the book, but you’ve wanted to get yourself a Christmas present, haven’t you.
This will be a challenge. You will confront topics and attitudes that can at best be described as uncomfortable. But if we want to do the work that Jesus calls us to do, dealing with challenging topics and having uncomfortable discussions is literally the least we can do.
Please feel free to contact me, or other members of the Building Bridges Team.
