The 39th annual Rural Ministry Conference will be held in Dubuque, IA on March 1-3, 2020. The conference offers leaders in rural communities and congregations an opportunity to gather to gain insight and inspiration, to network and neighbor that our ministries might be empowered. This ecumenical conference includes worship, keynote speakers, workshops, and Bible study, and offers participants a unique opportunity to network with others who are active in and concerned about rural ministry.
This year's theme is “Ministry in Divisive Times." The keynote speaker is the Rev. Dr. Leah Schade, Assistant Professor of Preaching and Worship at Lexington Theological Seminary, and author of Preaching in the Purple Zone: Ministry in the Red-Blue Divide and Creation-Crisis Preaching: Ecology, Theology, and the Pulpit. She will equip leaders to use a sermon-dialogue-sermon preaching method and offer a new technique for having a balanced, open-minded church discussions that moves beyond current political debates and frames the conversation within biblical and theological perspectives.
